The Kowaunkamish Chapter is a chartered member of the Amangi Nacha Lodge in the Order of the Arrow. The Lodge serves the Golden Empire Council, which covers most of Northern California, while the Kowaunkamish Chapter serves the Buttes Area District, which covers the Yuba, Sutter, and some of Butte and Colusa counties.
The Chapter is very involved in activities, and provides many opportunities for local Boy Scout troops. Our biggest event is the Spring Camporee, which this year drew over 300 Scouts and Scouters for a weekend of camping in nearby Brownsville, a small town in the mountains above our area.
We also provide our services for other local Boy Scout events, including helping at the District Dinner.

We meet the second Sunday of every month, excluding the month of July, at the Live Oak Scout Hall in Live Oak, CA (unless otherwise noted) at 2:00 pm. We encourage all chapter members to attend, and we welcome OA members from outside of our chapter as well. These meetings are where we plan our camporee, our ordeal, and where we do training for dancing, drumming, and ceremonies. If you are interested in any of these programs, show up! We can be there all day.
